Come Home
Photography and filmmaking mentoring for creatives curious to find their way home.
It’s so easy to get caught up in what other people are doing and creating, and fall into the trap of thinking you should be doing the exact same things.
Discovering, and then holding onto your own photographic voice is hard, the noise can be overwhelming, and the path untrodden.
You can get lost and disorientated. We want to help you find your way home.
Home to photographs and films you are proud of, and that you can really feel yourself in.
We want to help you get to the core of who you are, how you express yourself as a creative, and to help you to see the real value you have to offer.
We don’t want to teach you how to take photographs like us, instead we want to encourage you to take photographs like you.
Eleven years ago, in the middle of a recession, we set up our business, and have been going strong ever since.
Over the years we have built a diverse and resilient business; combining brand with portrait work, and filmmaking with still photography, yet retaining our unique voice and photographic style throughout.
In 2014, we were one of the first photographers to diversify into filmmaking, and have been leading the way ever since. Filmmaking is now woven into every strand of our business, and it is something we are pushing forward even further.
We are also currently working on a photography book, commissioned by Fotovue, and established the hashtag #storiesoftheeveryday which currently has over 40,000 posts.
Our business is constantly evolving, changing and growing, fuelled by creativity and a desire to share something of ourselves with the world.
We now want to pass on some of what we’ve learnt, about photography, creativity, and business to you - because we believe that there is space for everyone in photography, and that what you have to offer is truly unique.
We all see the world differently, and there is only one of you. How you see it matters.
Our mentoring is for anyone looking to develop their photography or filmmaking skills or business.
In particular we work with:
Photographers and filmmakers wanting to start a business but feeling overwhelmed and unsure.
Photographers and filmmakers who are already in business, but feel stuck in the weeds, unable to develop their business in the way they want to.
Creatives wanting to take better photographs or films of their products, processes and spaces.
Photographers looking to move into filmmaking, and wanting to learn how.
Our sessions are tailored to you and your needs, but here are a few things we can discuss:
Photography and Filmmaking Skills
Technical skills and how to use your camera.
Composition and how to use light.
How to portray feeling and the senses in your photography.
How to create and maintain a consistent style.

Recently, we mentored Fiona Russell. She came to us wanting to take better photos and films of her own family. We have worked with her over 3 months, really getting to the core of what she loves about family photography, and finding the light that expresses her vision the best. And now, she is excited to be planning her future photography business. For more case studies, and words from people we’ve worked with, we are currently setting up a separate page dedicated to it here:
“Sarah's mentoring sessions have been a complete turning point for me. I came stuck in a rut, not knowing which direction to take my photography or filmmaking in, but after our very first session my head was spinning with excitement. I've learned so much about photography and filmmaking during our 3 months together, but even more about myself and now have a clear idea of the direction I want to go in and the confidence to do it!
The sessions themselves are so relaxed, and are the absolute highlight of my week. I only wish I'd got in touch sooner.” Fiona
Photography is intensely personal, and developing your practise can take you to some very vulnerable places. We want to get to the heart of what drives you, and tap into your creativity.
When I click the shutter, and I can feel myself in a shot, there is something that sparks within me. We are all, as humans, searching for a connection, and photography is where I find some of mine.
To me, photography is not just about the image, but about the feeling it gives you when you look at it. It’s the ritual of pulling old photographs from a pine dresser, and passing the battered, but much loved biscuit tin around.
It is the patch of sun on the stairs, that warms your feet as you pass. It is the smell of soup bubbling on the stove, and the sound of laughter through thin walls.
It is the feeling of home.
If any of this resonates with you, then we would love to work with you. Send us an email, and we will arrange a free, 30 minute chat just to check we are a good fit.
We’ll put the kettle on…
