the feeling of home

That patch of light in the hallway. The woodland paths I walk every day. The comforting curve of a mug of tea in my hand. The sun creeping over our felt-tipped marked kitchen table as we’re having our dinner. The weight of my camera and the click of a shutter.

These are the things that give me the feeling of home. Fragments that when stitched together make up the tapestry of my everyday.

We all feel at home in different places and with different things.

Wherever and whatever it is for you;  it’s what we’re striving to capture: the feeling of home.

ABOUT US

My Mum and Dad keep our family photos in an old Quality Street tin. Inside are images of my sister and I growing up. From climbing trees and pretending we were in Swallows and Amazons, through to our awkward teenage years. Every so often, after a Sunday roast, the tin is brought out and the contents passed around. I always know when certain photos are coming by my Mum’s chuckle!

This ritual is something I treasure as much as the photographs themselves, and it’s a big part of why I became a photographer.

I run the business with my wife Suzi, who is the Studio Manager as well as a photographer herself. Growing up her Dad and Grandad almost always had a camera slung around their necks, or a cine film camera in their hands. Yet while I feel most at home in the woods, with my footsteps crackling through dry leaves, Suzi feels that sense of home floating in water.

We live in Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire, along with our two year old daughter.

We create films and take photographs to tell the stories of both brands and families.

For brands, we don’t just want to document what you do, but why you do it. We want to tell your stories, and share what lights you up.

And for families, it’s about capturing real life, in all its sticky-fingered messiness. The everyday moments you will want to remember.

We also share what we know about filmmaking and photography through on and offline courses and workshops.

"Sarah's work reminds me of the over saturated memories of childhood days spent in the bright sun when the tall grasses were taller than me!"
